To import clients into your Acounta Portal, follow these steps:
Downloading the Sample Import File
Log in to your Acounta Portal.
Navigate to the “Clients” sections using left bar navigation.
At top right there is a series of icons. Click on the 5th icon that says ‘Import’ on hover.
Click on the “Download Imported File” button.
Save the file to your desired location on your computer.
Filling in Client Details
Open the downloaded sample import file using a spreadsheet program.
Each row represents a client.
Provide as much information as possible for each client.
Ensure that the mandatory fields, such as email and phone, are filled in for every client.
In the “Entity Type” field, enter “Individual” for individual clients and the client’s business name for business clients.
Uploading the Filled Import File
Return to the Acounta Portal and navigate to the same place from where you downloaded the sample import file.
Click on the “Drag and Drop Files to Upload” button.
Select the filled import file from your computer and click “Open.”
Wait for the file to upload. The system will validate the data.
On the next screen, you will be prompted to map the fields used in the import file with the fields used in the Acounta Portal system.
If you have filled all the fields provided in the sample import file, the system will automatically map the fields for you.
Review the field mapping to ensure accuracy. Make any necessary adjustments if required.
Verifying Client Details
On the subsequent screen, you will see the details of first three clients to cross-check if the data is being imported correctly.
Verify that the client details are accurately displayed.
If any discrepancies are found, you can go back to the previous steps to correct the import file and mapping.
Completing the Import Process
Once you have verified the client details, click on the “Finish Import” button.
The system will begin importing all the clients from the import file.
The list of clients in your Acounta Portal will be updated, and the newly imported clients will be added to the list.
Congratulations! You have successfully imported clients into your Acounta Portal using the import feature.
